What lurks down the street….
I contributed a picture of a church within walking distance of my house to the Terrible Tabernacle contest. I’m a bad person, but it’s an ugly tabernacle. Looks like a dollar-store Christmas decoration gone horribly wrong.

.
I thought that was pretty bad, but then I saw this picture of the altar. Which at first I thought was a timpani. The resemblance is hilarious.

I have to admit, when I saw pictures of this church on the Web site, I realized that it was not quite the parish for me. They have healthy attendance and a fine school…just not my “scene,” as the kids say.

Hey! That’s a really neat looking worship space! I can’t believe you’re so down on it. I especially like that they have a coffee maker up there on the dais - I’m going to have to try that. If you see the pastor, please ask him where he got it and if they make one without the little cross on top (crosses offend our visitors).

Fr. Tim,
I’ll have to check with them. It’s convenient, isn’t it? They can start up the coffee right after the Communion and just get out a tray of donuts and everyone can fellowship right there!
Although I tried to get coffee out of one of those when I really needed a caffeine fix and I think it was broken because all I got was cold water.
